Water Is for Fighting

In 2015 I received a National Geographic Young Explorer grant to produce a web video series about various freshwater issues around the United States. Here is one of those videos, hosted on the High Country News.

Five Minutes Peace

Its amazing what one morning of pretty light and an afternoon of editing can do. This piece was featured on Outside Online and numerous other fly fishing sites. Glad it was so well received as this is a very special place for me.

Secrets of the Rainforest

In 2015 I went down the Panama with Pioneer Studios for three weeks filming a story for the Smithsonian Earth network. We shot 12 natural history shorts, all in 4K that are featured on their new streaming service. Here’s a teaser of the hummingbird sequence.

Urban Jungle

They’re the subject of countless newscasts. The horror stories from our headlines. Wild animals stalking our streets like never before. But their stories haven’t fully been told – until now. In Urban Jungle, big cat tracker Boone Smith takes viewers on a harrowing journey to the places we once counted as our own, but have gone to the wild. He ventures deep into the heart of some of the most crowded cities on the planet, to uncover a hidden world where predators and prey collide – outside our windows, above our skyscrapers, under our feet. All over the planet, a new wilderness is rising. And it’s just outside your door.

NEMO 1934: Searching for Everett Ruess

In the 1930′s teenager, Everett Ruess set out from Los Angeles into the desert southwest’s wilderness intending to explore native American ruins, desert canyons and high mesas. Making art and writing all the way he spent many of his teen years in the unforgiving desert. At just 20 years old, he vanished into the red rock canyon country, never to be found.  This is the story of his adventures as well his myth that lives on in the desert canyons.

Black Gambit

Black Gambit is the story of Eastman Kodak Co.’s involvement in the Cold War Era spy satellite program, “Gambit.”  The engineering feat alone is a great story, and the folks who were involved in it have an incredible story to tell.

Black Gambit was featured on the PBS affiliate WXXI Rochester’s website.
